Awning Lady

"Rumor has it; that the awning lady is here, this weekend, for the Misty River Vintage Trailer Rally. Has anyone seen her yet?"

On Thursday afternoon, she was seen taking pictures of the vintage trailers, that had already arrived, and socializing with other rally participants. Later, she was spotted down by the river taking her dog for a swim. Toward evening, she was spied in the hot-tub with her husband. At nightfall, they were observed having a Scrabble competition, under their trailer awning, lit up by dangling vintage awning lights.
Early Friday morning, many passersby noticed her, as they went to and fro from the bathhouse. Everyone waved, as she sat out at the picnic table, under the awning, enjoying her morning coffee. She was later eyed, on the river's edge, fishing with her husband, and then at the ice cream stand having a treat. She was overheard practicing her acoustic guitar, as she tried to learn how to play it! By evening, she was recognized at the bonfire toasting and eating marshmallows. Again, she was viewed back in that hot-tub with her husband!
Saturday, the awning lady was seen in a red rain coat and Ducks, sloshing through the mud puddles with her dog. In the pouring rain, she came to the aid of a young family with a leaking Scotty. She was caught sneaking a peek at all of the pork butts in the huge BBQ smoker. Out taking more pictures, between cloudbursts, she also managed to view a 1915 Model T Ford and a 1972 lime green 340 Duster, before touring some vintage trailers. The weather cooperated just long enough for everyone to get their covered dishes, and themselves to the buffet line and eat. She was witnessed to be wearing a Hot Pink sundress, with a plate loaded with food!
So you see, even though I was hiding, safe and snug in my 1968 Avion, during the thunder and lightening event, playing Yahtzee with my husband. When the torrential onslaught of rain, and the wind tunnel effect billowing down from the mountain ended, I was out and about, totally enjoying my stay at Misty River.
Eventually, before the Rally ended, I hope all of you figured out who the awning lady was and received a business card with Vintage Trailer Awnings by Kristi  information and an email contact address. (dfoster@bellsouth.net)
Outside again, early on Sunday morning, I gazed off into the beauty of the Smoky Mountains shrouded in mist. I was joined by a kindly, elderly, gentleman, whose entire family had decided to sleep in. We sat at the picnic table, shared the view, a pot of coffee and a nice conversation. It was a delightful ending to the Fall Vintage Trailer Rally.
